Swindon Borough Council has confirmed the continued availability of the Household Support Fund, designed to assist vulnerable residents experiencing financial hardship. The fund, provided by the UK Government, is intended to help those who cannot afford basic living expenses due to rising costs.

According to the Council, eligible households can apply for support to cover essentials like food, energy, and water bills, with the scheme running until 30 September 2024 or until funds are exhausted. The Council highlighted that over £3.4 million has already been distributed to Swindon residents since the fund’s launch in October 2021.

Applications are open to households in crisis, with priority given to families with children, pensioners, and those with disabilities. Swindon Borough Council is working with local partners, including Citizens Advice Swindon and the Swindon Food Collective, to ensure support reaches those most in need.

The Council encouraged residents to apply as soon as possible, as demand for the fund remains high. Further information and application details are available on the Swindon Borough Council website.
