Marlborough Town Council Opens New Play Area at Coopers Meadow
Marlborough Town Council officially opened a new play area at Coopers Meadow on 27 June 2024 in Marlborough. The project, completed with community input and funding, aims to provide enhanced recreational facilities for local families.

The new play area at Coopers Meadow was unveiled by Marlborough Town Council following months of planning and consultation with local residents. The initiative was designed to create a modern, accessible space for children and families in the town centre.
According to the council, the project was supported by funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and contributions from the Area Board, with total costs exceeding £100,000. The play area features inclusive equipment, a zip wire, and a sensory trail, reflecting feedback from local children and parents.
The opening event was attended by councillors, community representatives, and families, with Mayor Councillor Lisa Farrell cutting the ribbon. The council worked with specialist contractors to ensure the equipment met safety and accessibility standards.
Marlborough Town Council stated that the new facility is part of ongoing efforts to improve public spaces and encourage outdoor activity. The council plans to monitor usage and gather further feedback to inform future projects in the area.
